Houseboating is a unique experience, it is the ultimate in fun, freedom and flexibility and Lightleys is the only place to offer you such an experience. No experience is necessary, you’re the skipper and the boating horizons are unlimited.

There is about 20 kilometres of navigable water with plenty of beautiful spots to moor your boat. A number of popular restaurants can be reached by boat.

Lightleys offers excellent jetty and harbour facilities for its fleet and all amenities are close by.

The Lightleys houseboats are enjoyed by a wide variety of people (with very different needs). From honeymoon couples to families, groups of friends, keen fishermen or bird watchers, nature enthusiasts and many more. Lightleys can also host larger groups such as 21st Birthday parties, smaller conference groups, teambuilding groups and employee incentive groups.

Lightleys has its own conference facilities available, positioned above the jetty, all catering needs can be arranged by request.

Lightleys has a choice of twelve self-contained luxury houseboats, which come fully equipped to ensure that you have a worry-free, totally pleasurable holiday. They sleep either 4 people (leisure liners) or 6 people (aqua chalets) and larger groups can be accommodated on two or more boats.

The boats are all equipped with a stove, fridge, hot and cold water showers, chemical toilet, radio/tape decks, CB radio, 12 V electric lights, barbeques, bedding, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and cooler boxes.

The boats are selfcatering or we can provide you with a lovely food basket for breakfast and dinner as supplied by Farmhouse Picnics.We do require 24 hour notice however.

Besides the houseboats we hire out 4 man fishing boats and two man canoes as well
